Below middle, a student's armature shows fairly standard proportions as compared to the "8-heads-high" human model to its right. Giacometti stretched the model, making humanoid figures with grotesquely elongated, thin bodies like the copper colored sculpture below at left. Notice how the lefthand sculpture's legs would extend to be significantly longer than those of the figures with standard proportions.
